Glass Charms
As a party favor for my 10 yr old’s birthday party, we made little glass marble charm necklaces. So easy and inexpensive to make and the girls all loved them!
You’ll need
- flat glass marbles (I found a huge bag of them for $3 at Big Lots- make sure they are clear and not iridescent)
- Mod Podge
- small pictures
- x-acto knife
- fine sand paper
- bails
- strong adhesive (I use E-6000)
- ribbon, hemp, chain, or whatever you want to use for the necklace
I used a softball picture (most of the girls played softball together over the summer) and a couple other generic pics and printed them on regular paper. With a very small amount of Mod Podge, glue the marbles to the small pics.
After they are dry, use the x-acto knife to carefully cut out the marbles. Don’t worry if the edges are a little rough, we’re going to sand them later!
Apply a couple of thin coats of Mod Podge to the paper, being sure to seal the edges and press out any bubbles. When dry, gently sand the edges then apply one last coat of Mod Podge.
When the Mod Podge is dry, glue on the bails. Attach ribbon or hemp or even add a jump ring to attach to a chain or charm bracelet!
Happy crafting!
